ST. PETERSBURG — It's been five years since its former namesake tenant moved out, but the tallest office building in Pinellas County will soon have a new name.

One Progress Plaza, formerly downtown's Bank of America tower, is becoming Priatek Plaza.

Priatek is a young, interactive advertising company that occupies the 23rd floor of the 386-foot-high building at 200 Central Ave. It attracts an advertiser's potential customers with digital games on mobile devices or kiosks at malls, airports, theaters and other public venues, according to the Priatek website. The potential customers play a free game for a chance to win a product or a discount and enter information about themselves.

The advertiser collects that information from people who have already shown an interest in the product, according to Priatek. Company CEO Milind Bharvirkar could not be reached for comment.

Specifics of the naming rights were not disclosed by Kucera Properties, which owns the 309,000-square-foot office tower. It's 90 percent occupied with just over 30,000 square feet for lease, Kucera stated in a press release.

"By assigning naming rights for this premier property to our tenant Priatek, we are signaling our firm's belief in the West Florida region's burgeoning technology sector," said Darin Kucera, managing partner of Kucera Properties.

Official renaming ceremonies are scheduled for Sept. 17.

Bank of America moved its lobby branch out of the 25-year-old building in 2010. Before housing B of A, it was known as the Barnett Bank tower and was the headquarters for Florida Progress Corp. before that.
